![]() I think this is a massive oversight by Microsoft.Įxcuse my french, but the Microsoft way of doing things is a giant head-f#ck!. Perhaps it's only possible to share whole plans with users, thus making the only way to effectively share tasks assigned to a member is to let me them see all tasks in the plan, thereby making "Group by: assigned to" the next best way for a user to see their tasks. Why are plans and just the tasks assigned to externals users (in the owner O365 group) not showing up in the group members Planner? What I expected when logging into Planner on one of the guest accounts (whether on mobile or browser) was that the guest user would see only the tasks that had been assigned to them, however instead there no plans and no tasks - what the #^%$?! Surely one of the key points of task assignment is so that specific users can just see the tasks that've been assigned to them.Īdditionally, I've create two plans - one Private, one Public - both with tasks assigned to group external members, but that seems to make a minor difference - when the plan is Public, it is viewable to the by going to /, but not / All guests received the expected notification emails. ![]() I added tasks and assigned the tasks to various people on external domains, all of whom belong to an Office 365 group of tenant owner ( following this process). In a tenant Owner account created a plan with a single bucket. This product looks great except for one apparent fatal flaw. For a group of Office 365 users (all on different domains), I initially began investigating Microsoft To-Do for simple planning and task sharing by assignment - however, it seems that To-Do doesn't allow sharing to external users on non-tenant Office 365 accounts, so biggie101 put me onto Microsoft Planner.
